Shrove Tuesday - Josh 150
Feb 21, 2012 Climate: fakegate Crime Josh
There seems to be some confusion in some minds as to what is heroic and what is plain illegal. Let's hope the spirit of Shrove Tuesday leads to clearer light being shed on current sins.

Appreciate you finding the PR and legal staff on PG side. I am not surprised. They are well known associates of Soros, so I doubt that they actually are pro bono in reality.
Poor Soros must be pulling out his grey hairs, but that's what he gets for associating with idiots.
Gleick obviously believes that his "cause" is more important than truth and integrity.
No doubt he has brought that attitude to his "frequently published" scientific endeavors as well.
Russell - he's not the messiah, he's just a very naughty boy.

"Gleick obviously believes that his "cause" is more important than truth and integrity."
I think Megan McArdle at The Atlantic has found the best words to express this:
I'm sure you know more about US politics than I, DPS, but aren't you worried that with Soros' resources and these practitioners of the left's black arts - the bad guys are going to win?
I can see Hansen & the usual green activists, plus opportunists like Occupy Everything/Code Pink/Cindy Sheehan etc etc and all the crazies from Gleick's alma mater Berkeley - all besieging the courtroom - while the Lamestream Meeja howl about "last chance to save the planet" and "big oil".
Remember "Bonfire of the Vanities" ?

In tabloid speak tricking people to give out confidential information is called "Blagging"
And they are not to keen on it at the Levison Equiry
Maybe Gleick should by a Glock and do something useful with it!
AARGH buy...not by
I'm taking the liberty of reposting a reply to DPS on the dying embers of a previous thread - and adding a note of a recent development:-

And today,a quote from Gleick's new pit-bull lawyer showing exactly which way things are heading:-
“Dr. Gleick looks forward to using discovery to understand more about the veracity of the documents, lay bare the implications of Heartland’s propaganda plans and, in particular, determine once and for all who is truly behind Heartland and why,”
It's going to get very political - and very dirty.

All what you say is true, but there are other under currents in US news. Particularly FOXNEWS, which is having a war with Soros, at least a proxy fight.
My point is that this is a PR fight, not a legal fight. I am sure that it will never get into a criminal court, and in a civil tort case, PG even with all his pit bull legal teams will lose. As Memory Vault pointed out in a different blog, but I reproduced on another thread here, the issues will be "what are the facts" and the burden of proof will be on the defendant with a much lower standard of "proof" than in a criminal case.
But the results will be the same, PG will be found guilty. And that is all that matters.
And getting back to the PR side of this, read the following:
Media Matters
And then notice that PG is on the front page of Foxnews:
climate-scientist-admits-stealing-docs
Yesterday they even had Peters picture on the front page. This got completely out of hand and PG did a super job of jabbing his thing into the meat grinder, and what is done, is done. The damage is done. Soros can spend billions on it, but will not matter, there is now a serious effort (Foxnews) to push the story, which they are.
I hope you're right DPS.
I'm not so sure.
We're dealing with people who can make dead folk come out and vote.
At last it seems even the Guardian may even be moderating its opinion in the glare of overwhelming public opposition to its original stance:
