It takes a village

I chanced upon the (unrevised) transcript of an evidence session in front of the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee on the subject of nuclear power.

I found myself with a vague feeling of unease having read it. This may have been something to do with the fact that the session involved evidence from Sir John Beddington, who appears to have coordinated the Climategate whitewashes. He was speaking to, among others, Lord Oxburgh, the head of one of the whitewashes in question, and Lord Willis, who headed another.

Lord Willis of Knaresborough: I said we are always thinking about things, we just never do anything.
Professor Sir John Beddington: Absolutely.

Sort of sums it all up.

Beddington's favourite word - "roadmap". Has he never heard of satnav? And this is the Government's Chief Scientific Adviser? Gobbledegook.

Lots of talk and very little action. It's been like that for years. They've talked about dealing with nuclear waste for over 20 years. Every few years they set up a new committee to discuss the issue. Then they put off the decision and set up another committee. It's no wonder this country is going downhill. It would help if they had somebody who had some knowledge of the nuclear industry Having had a dozen energy ministers in 14 years doesn't help.

"It takes a village"

It is a village and every village has its idiots, sadly it looks like this village has them employed as “scientific advisors”.

However, I wonder would “wimp” be a better description for a scientific advisor with a lack of moral fibre?

Potentially the most expensive, regressive wimps that mankind has so far encountered.

I know, I know we've all read silly global warming stories before but really, this is my offering for the silliest in the past couple of days. Beat this.....

I think this trumps that one, Paul:

"It's not obvious to me that Harris and Willis were working for the BMA (British Medical Association) and the NUT (National Union of Teachers) during the Climategate inquiry, but they were certainly not working on behalf of the public."

C'mon Bish!

Why would they be working for the NUT or BMA on this particular project? The RS is the "competent Union" for "Climate Scientist" scamsters.

And that would get us what sHx? Seems to me the system on the other side of the pond is no better than the UK! Look to the long running F.O.I.'s on Mann and his whitewash inquiry for proof of that!
