From the Ecclesiastical U ncle, an old retired bureaucrat in a field only remotely related to climate with minimal qualifications and only half a mind.
Poweful stuff, but preaching to the converted here.
This and others like it should be in the MSM where it would have undoubtedly beneficial effects on the public consciousness.
In my humble opinion, you are right about preaching to the converted, but it will also get out to the unconverted. Josh is showing some real talent for political cartooning and it is good that he is on our side. He will have an impact in time. This fight is about rhetoric, and Josh draws some VERY effective rhetoric.
In a few years, we will all be saying "I knew Josh back in his Bishop Hill days."
I agree with Don and Uncle. Josh, you are so perceptive and have a rare talent. You should be in the MSM, along with Matt and those other greats, where you can really make an impact.
I have have my 'ecocide' t-shirt (http://cartoonsbyjosh.spreadshirt.co.uk/) and am well pleased with it. It strikes me that 'ecocide' can stand for 'economic suicide', as well as the usual eco-anything-cide. Here is a clip showing how a red kite can get caught out by a wind turbine - I guess these birds are just not used being whacked from behind with a massive blade as they drift in the sky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkbU1tS_UQc
Whoops, my German and my bird recognition may have let me down. The clip I linked to at 9:01am is the same as the one in the Lynas article (link: http://www.epaw.org/multimedia.php?lang=en&article=b2) where it is described as a vulture. Sure looks like a vulture.
You show a new darkness in your work, and it is powerful indeed. I have this image of Plato's cave: spectators sit facing the wall of the cave and can't turn round because shackled by chains of consensuality and selective filtering of information.
Behind them stalks the Reaper, and through some cunning optical trickery, its image is projected onto the wall as its antithesis - something happy, friendly and benevolent.
When the Reaper's not there, something that is actually innocuous may be behind the spectators, projected as something fearsome.
In charge of the cunning optical projection device is a motley crew of sincere but deluded believers, cynical profiteers and whited sepulchres.
One of the spectator seats is vacant, its shackles having been thrown off. The escapee is working frantically with a lock pick to free one of the other spectators. Some of the motley crew are lobbing stones at the escapee, making his task all the harder.

Isn't that a Great Bustard on their logo? Perhaps they are targeting the birds recently reintroduced to Salisbury Plain.
As somebody who reads this site everyday with interest in my opinion this is your best yet Josh - it really captures in a powerful image what is often missed behind following Green thinking without questioning it's implications.
You're hitting your stride with the windmills, Josh! The RSPB seem to have been very quiet on the subject since they were persuaded that birds were OK with them...
It also made me recall an old thriller, by a writer called John MacDonald, iirc, which has a word-play on the 'grim reaper'theme. He called his book 'the Grim Ripper'.
So - the 'Green Reaper' turns out to be, literally, the "Green Ripper" -of birds and bats ...

You have definitely arrived in the world of political cartooning. Congratulations.

Uncle, Have hope.
There are (most of the time) lurkers like me that act as nodes to spread info like this to a wider audience

It's a nightmare vision, Josh.

Josh, I've long been a fan of your work. This one, though, is extra special. I keep coming back and looking at it. It is so moving.
