Newsbiscuit reports

Anti-capitalist protestors are being told they face a lengthy visit from columnist and self-styled eco-warrior George Monbiot if they don’t withdraw from their encampment in St Paul’s Square.

My favourite line:

"Don’t get me wrong: George is, like, my hero,’ explained protester Jeremy ‘Jezza’ Compton-Couvela sitting on the steps of St Paul’s, shivering, and drenched in global warming-related rain.

As a self-confessed 'Jezza' myself, I particularly enjoyed that one also...

Anti-capitalist protesters - ok. But what is their robust consensus view on its replacement one wonders.

Their employers must be very understanding to give them all this time of for protesting.

Do we still permit such a cruel and inhumane punishment for a minor misdemeanour like trespass?

I almost feel sorry for the protesters.

But not quite.

I'm a bit of a 99% sympathiser, frankly, being one of the 99%. Whatever the chattering classes tell you, the movement is actually anti-corruption, not anti-capitalism.

That's something I can get behind.

Cruel.....but O so funny!

That should clear the area pretty quickly...

That was definitely good for a laugh! Depending on one's view of Muller's BEST, here's another that might appear to be quite timely:

New study adds nothing to the world whatsoever

Agree Simon, I'm not sure where the anti-capitalist thing comes from, though obviously a mixed group of protesters are actually present. From all the negative comments I've heard around though (not here) I'm sure we will soon see a rival pro corruption and pro taxing the low/middle incomes more to give to the millionaires and billionaires to even things out a bit.

Rumor has it, having allowed the protesters' camp to January, the priests of St Paul's Cathedral held then a Mass to pray for early sleet and snow.

Heh, the Deity that seems to have responded to them with his usual wintry wit, is Al Gore, prototype crony capitalist extraordinaire.
