Make yer mind up Issa

Remember I said that the US House of Representatives had (kind of) said they weren't going to investigate Climategate? That was yesterday. Today, they are (kind of) saying that they will. Mother Jones has this:

UPDATE: Oversight Committee spokesman Frederick Hill responded to a question about whether climate is still on Rep. Issa's agenda this year, via email: "The issue, as explained in the September report, is still a relevant concern. [Bardella's]  comment simply reflects the fact that the committee has not announced a hearing or specific investigation on the issue."

In the comments to yesterday's post, Doug Keenan said he thinks that Issa's Oversight Committee will probably pass this particular hot potato over to the science committee. That sounds about right to me.

Actually it would maybe be better politically to hold off on hearings until summer of 2012. Exposing the defects so soon will lose value for the next election. American voters seem to vote on issues raised in the 90 days or so before the election.

Having seen the 'Validity of Climate Science' hot potato passed down the line-out by each Climategate inquiry as fast as a sizzling volcanic bomb, finally drop-kicked out of the stadium completely, I'm not surprised to hear it's still just as hot even after an intercontinental ballistic journey across the Atlantic and solidifying for a year.

@99
Wouldn't get too exercised about the 90 day rule mate.
The foot-spotting, take aim and fire period is about daily for your average (s)warmista toe-shredder.
In politics a fortnight may be a long time but when imminent global collapse is concerned, an hour is an eternity!
No need to apply human timescales to flitterbug organisms.
Or conscience either, RIP to Fiona- 1996 to 2005. We had the technology to save you but eggshells were more precious. Forgive Carson, she meant well.

What I want as a citizen of the United States is to see the US congress immediately freeze any and all climate reparations promised by Sec. of State Hillary Clinton in Copenhagen at Cop15 in 2009! After that I want a full audit and cost benefit analysis of all existing & proposed wind/solar/wave projects that in anyway utilize federal funds, lands or waters. Running parallel there should be a complete audit and overhaul of the US temperature(precipitation/weather/climate, etc...) records and the creation of an official temperature/weather/climate record with legal repercussions for the tampering of the Official US Weather/Climate Database which would be fully available for all to view and utilize.
