From today's Telegraph:

"Sir John Lawton, Chairman of the Royal Commission, said global warming is a real risk and could cause huge problems for Britain.

He said all businesses and public bodies should have to carry out a "climate change adaptation test" in the same way as they currently conduct health and safety checks.

"The planet is already slightly above the worse case scenario so if we do nothing we could be looking at a temperature rise of 4C (7.3F) by 2100," he said. "

Er, correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we considerably *below* the worst case climate prediction as trotted out by James Hansen a few years back? And isn't Lucia consistently showing that the IPCC's predictions are too high by a statistically significant amount? And given it seemed that a new "worse case" [sic] was coming out every other day in the run up to Copenhagen, by what conceivable yardstick could we say we're "above" it?

Hey, this isn't the best of Josh, Bishop! I think is "The Presence of a Unit Root" is much, much better.

Everyone! Take a ride on the "More cartoons by Josh here." button and take a look. While there, buy a tee shirt , which you can wear with your blue jean.

Don't pretend to understand it but Lobos Motl has used his Physics background to show the IPCC senarios based on climate sensitivity parameters used in the report are pants.

For those who are interested, this and this will give you a feel for the caliber of motl's "physics background". Caveat emptor.
