11 days later

Sir Muir has taken three months to form his team and to decide what they are going to examine. We, the public now have eleven working days to make our written submissions.

They say

"You may find the following links helpful."

Laugh or Cry? Evidence for a parallel universe?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Why don't they post links to RealClimate and Eli Rabett while they are about it? You really couldn't make it up. Should cheer poor old self-pitying Jones up a bit though, when he sees how cosy the set-up is.

Quote, Nature Editorial, Dec 3 2009, "The stolen e-mails have prompted queries about whether Nature will investigate some of the researchers' own papers. One e-mail talked of displaying the data using a 'trick' — slang for a clever (and legitimate) technique, but a word that denialists have used to accuse the researchers of fabricating their results. It is Nature's policy to investigate such matters if there are substantive reasons for concern, but nothing we have seen so far in the e-mails qualifies."

This inquiry is going nowhere when minds have already been made up.

Note the use of the term "denialists".

BH,

"We, the public now have eleven working days to make our written submissions."

Don't you just love this 'consultation' process, aka 'box-ticking', that poses as democracy? Watch the report come out (eventually) containing the phrase "....we consulted the public....."

I note a Freudian slip. At http://www.cce-review.org/About.php it states "the United Nations’ Independent Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)".

Channel 4 News says Campbell has resigned because of his prior statements on Climategate.

Dunno if you know, Just seen Ch4 news says Campbell has stepped down because of his previous comments saying it wasn't a scandal, they claim it was because of their exclusive but surely this was sussed on this blog first?

Just seen it. I think it's the right decision.

I wonder if I could offer myself as a totally impartial replacement for Campbell! The remuneration and conditions seem excellent.

From the FAQs page

What fees are you paying to the Review team?
The University of East Anglia is being paid for by the University of East Anglia.

3 months and still they couldn't get it right. 1 down 4 to go. None of this panel is suitable.

Nice observation, as usual. You gotta be good to beat common sense.

If you listen carefully you can hear the sloshing of the whitewash bucket in the background.
