WWF - another fake charity

John Rosenthal has taken a long hard look at where WWF gets its funding. Afficionados of the Fake Charities projects will not be surprised to learn that they huge swathes of their income is derived from the EU.

According to European Commission data, WWF was awarded nearly €9 million in EU support in 2008 alone. In 2007, the figure was over €7.5 million. Most of this support came in the form of ostensibly project-linked grants to WWF-International or its national affiliates.

Mann-Generated Global Warming really is a sewer, with the resultant attraction of rats like WWF, (which I'll always associate with the World Wrestling Federation anyway! Those rats at least had class.)

Green astroturfing

There is a clear distinction between the World Wrestling Foundation WWF and the "green" WWF.

One of them is a blatantly commercial enterprise that makes money from the gullible with over-hyped stage-managed events with rigged but unbelievable outcomes. The other runs wrestling tournaments.

Check this breaking news

“The Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) is a forum for collaboration on climate change for European investors. The group’s objective is to catalyse greater investment in a low carbon economy by bringing investors together to use their collective influence with companies, policymakers and investors. The group currently has over 50 members, including some of the largest pension funds and asset managers in Europe, and represents assets of around €4trillion. A full list of members is available on the membership page”.

Did you catch that: FOUR TRILLION EUROS!

These guys are in this thing deep, and many may stand to loose their pensions, and some churches other than the ‘Church of AGW’ may also loose their robes.

Members of the IIGCC include (I trimmed the list a bit):

Baptist Union of Great Britain
BBC Pension Trust
Bedfordshire Pension Fund
BT Pension Scheme
Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church
Corporation of London Pension Fund
Environment Agency Pension Fund

The chairman of the IIGCC is also the chairman of the BBC Pension Fund.

H/T to vidl in the BBC comments

This is a matter of public record and does not imply a conflict of interest. Your mileage may vary...

'......chairman of the IIGCC is also the chairman of the BBC Pension Fund.....'

That explains a lot about the BBC bias on climate change!

So if I've got this right, we pay Taxes to the Government, who pay some of it to the EU, who pays some of to the WWF who use some of it to come up with dodgy reports for the IPCC that tells our government to cut CO2 and take more taxes from us.

Sounds like the perfect Ponzi scheme to me!

Not a recent post, but see who's chairman of the Met office and has his fingers in all sorts of pies - was former Chief Executive of WWK-UK etc.

4trillion euros - chickenfeed: this guy is involved in directing funding of 55 trillion dollars into 'green' investments, and trying to get green taxes out of every taxpayer in the UK. As I state in the blog post:

Not only is he the chairman of the Met office, but Napier is Chairman of the Green Fiscal Commission, seeking to impose massive green taxation; he is Director of the Carbon Disclosure Project, which has built the largest database on corporate ‘carbon footprints’ as a basis for discrimination against those who don’t go along with the eco agenda; he is Chairman of the trustees of the World Centre of Monitoring of Conservation, which is bankrolled by the UN Environment Programme to push and ensure compliance with the Green agenda; and he is Chairman of the Homes and Communities Agency, which is seeking to grab land for ecotowns and determining compliance of housing to stringent Green standards. Other recent positions he has held include Chief Executive of WWF-UK, a vast malthusian political pressure group seeking to grab land and stop development around the world; a Director of The Climate Group, a huge international pressure group for the climate change agenda; and a Director of the Alliance of Religions and Conservation, a secular body seeking to infuse ‘Green’ values into all the major religions, and to designate land as ‘sacred’ to prohibit development, and galvanize religions as a powerful advocacy group for the eco agenda.

This web of organizations over which Napier exercises influence means that Napier is responsible for the generation of climate alarmism, input into the IPCC reports, powerful secular and religious eco advocacy, directing of investments exceeding $55 trillion towards the Green agenda, monitoring of eco compliance, manipulating government fiscal policy towards green taxes, and control of the built environment towards the green agenda. Napier is an eco-imperialist, and for him and his cronies it’s all about total social control for the green agenda – controlling all bases: investment, building, land, religion, government, taxes, propaganda, advocacy, monitoring, climate science and data.

The government has an agenda to push, so it shoves money at a charity/NGO with a broadly similar agenda. The charity inevitably tailors its message and alters its focus to suit the government (pander to the source of funds, inviting more) and lobbies the government to do what it wants to do anyway, by creating a false impression of popular support.

Astroturfing indeed, and corrupting to the organisations getting the funny money.

The Environment Agency Pension Fund is investing in organisations that benefit from the last few years' activities of the Environment Agency? I know nothing of the law covering such actions, but doesn't that stink?

I am shocked ! Oh, my God I am SHOCKED! I shall switch on the BBC to recover!

"And now for the rest of today's news, a black helicopter has been reported over Jack Hughes' house. Another, shot down by a mysterious missile was destroyed in California. The old man near the house where the helicopter crashed said "Serves the bastards right!" Although, we are not certain what he was referring to.

And Mrs. Mary Wilson was awarded the first prize for her pink petunias in the Early Spring Flower Growers Contest in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

"I use cow manure," she said when asked about the size of her prize petunias. "They really love it, they do! I also use Met Weather forecasts, shreaded up. The little darlings thrive on those, particularly with all the promises of warm weather. That sparkles them right them up!"

"And now to the rest of the news."

As the Americans day -- "Same old -- same old. When will it change?"

"I am shocked ! Oh, my God I am SHOCKED! I shall switch on the BBC to recover!"

I'm shocked by the extent to which this thing has spread its tentacles. I never thought that Climategate would kill it ( Climategate was, of course, when it started to hit the public at large ). It obviously had a lot of momentum. Few understood exactly what was involved in the momentum. It's going to take years for the roots to die.

Dont forget they also wrote policy for the Australian Government and while they and Greenpeace saw huge increases in funding the other environmental institutions were starved!
