New vacancy on S&T committee

One of the Labour members of the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, Jonathan Reynolds, has been appointed a whip. In this position he is no longer eligible to sit on the committee.

New elections will be held among the Parliamentary Labour party to select a replacement, with nominations closing on 25th October.

Does that suggest that the promised announcement about Muir Russell appearing before them will be after this date?

Messenger: yes good question. What exactly is the time line for Muir Russel to appear? I recall October sometime was the original date. Also, there was talk of Acton appearing - what ever happened to that?

Shouldn't the Committee also be asking Fiona Fox to appear in person this time, rather than just act as script writer//editor for people on both sides of the Enquiry?

Not necessarily a very encouraging prospect given that the Labour party is now led by Ed Milliband, our former Climate Change Secretary and a fully committed climate alarmist

Bearing in mind that virtually all of Parliament are scientific illiterates, does it make the slightest difference who is the replacement?
