No wallflower

A hydrologist calling himself Potentilla has written a joint article with TonyN at the Harmless Sky blog. It shows an example of how activist scientists, environmental groups and green journalists combine to mislead the public. This is a must-read, particularly for anyone who knows the name of Lonnie Thompson.

On a similar vain have you listened to this weeks Analysis? It shows how greenies have hijacked climate changes for their own agenda. In one example a woman asks an audience of 200 greenies if they would be happy for her to wave a magic wand and make global warming go away without people changing their behaviour. Only 2 did, the rest, were only interested in changing us.

It's more of the same old lies and propaganda.

Did anyone listen to The World This weekend today http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00q9kgh

Philip Stott was excellent again and all Miliband could do was bluster and ignore the questions about CRU and climategate. It's a must listen. Miliband is getting desperate not to give in to reality before the election. The pressure has to be maintained.

I was amazed how little Miliband seemed to know about the subject. He didn't seem to know that who Stott was.

Miliband's response was the same as just about every politician on this subject. They have not checked the facts for themselves and bow to expert opinion. It's just that we have exposed these experts as charlatan's, and Ed and his experts have not taken this on board yet and can not accept that their experts can be wrong. They are treating this as a political subject where there are many answers and not as a scientific subject where there are facts to be established first. Long may it continue as the man is a complete fool and this is the subject that will bar Labour from office.

Every MP that has examined this subject in any depth is a sceptic. And if you can not find too many that are sceptic then its because our MP's as a group are not well informed.

Just reported on BBC "country file". It's been Scotlands' coldest December and January since, at least, 1914.
Wonder how Mr Millipede might explain, just how this is possible?

It's the weather -- has nothing to do with the Climate, surely you know that.

The Show Shovel Index (SSI) now stands at 4.0 in my driveway for this year. I usually get exercise doing that maybe once every three years, so its colder here in California as well.

Actually, it is an El Niño year which is actually the cause in both here and in Europe. It is a well known effect caused by ocean warming in the Pacific. The fish must be using too much petrol, don't you think?

With every scandal, starting with the Hockey stick graph, the Mantra of IPCC and the alarmists, repeated over and over and over again - "THERE IS NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF THEIR OTHER PREDICTIONS. THE REST OF THE SCIENCE IS ROBUST, .., AND THIS WAS JUST AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. IT HAS BEEN CORROBORATED BY OTHER RESEARCH ETC

What a lie! And Potentilla and TonyN nail this lie good and proper.

Suzanne Goldberg is not an innocent journalist being led by the nose. She is a particularly unpleasant warmist propagandist who advocacy is strident. She would twist anything to meet the 'agenda'. Just look at her climate articles on the guardian site.

Do you think that if we'd just had the hottest 2 months for 100 years the warmists wouldn't have been using it as proof positive that we are all going to boil to death?

@The Great Simpleton

While I might suggest you are living up to yer name, I will be polite and assume that ye have not read me previous posts.

Surely ye jest, me good sir. They are clearly lying. I was merely looking for the smiley face icon and not finding it due to me tired old eyes, said "F" it and so sent the post as it were.

Sometimes humor is lost. As it was on ye. I want to put them on the barbie and roast them.

Naturally, come next year, when it is warmer than this because the El Niño has passed yet again, those slime balls will claim "LOOK SEE -- IT'S WARMER THAN LAST YEAR! GLOBAL WARMING! I TOLD YOU SO!'

And if yer name is Frank or Wadard, I am looking for another bite of ye. So bring it on.

Ouch. That'll teach me for sitting in front of the TV with glass of wine in hand only half reading what is in front of me!

Apologies, Don Pablo de la Sierra.

The Analysis program was intriguing and everyone should listen to it.
As the Great Simpleton mentioned above, the opening example of the response of environmentalists to the idea of a carbon dioxide fairy was extraordinary. These people are not genuinely interested in saving the planet, they are interested in changing society.

It reminds me of something I tried myself with other environmentalists. I've suggested the following:
"Imagine that tomorrow a device is invented that provides free, clean, unlimited energy to any individual. The device costs pennies to manufacture, and emits no pollution. A byproduct of it is that it actually scrubs carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere. Everyone around the world can afford it or make their own.
Is this a good thing?"

It's amazing how many environmentalists don't think it is.
And on a different note, the programme revealed another interesting example of how the climate gate is affecting the Warmist community. The slant of the programme was that climate change is (obviously) 100% real and that, unless we do something soon, we are all doomed. What might be called the default BBC position.
The argument expressed by the presenter, the BBC's 'Ethical Man' was that environmentalists, with their hysterical overreaction to everything, were ruining it for the Warmists. To this end we even had somebody directly involved in climate gate, Mike Hulme, blaming environmentalists for the mistrust the public now feels towards climate science.
You had to laugh.
Ethical Man agreed. They are all so terrified and suddenly trying to distance themselves from each other in the mistaken belief that their particular part of the church can be saved. Expect to see a lot more of this in the coming weeks and months.
