Environmentalists trashing the environment 3

They're coming thick and fast now.

The government's going to ban plastic bags, despite its own advisers telling it that this will make the situation worse!

Idiots.

I'm fairly undecided at the moment until I see more hard data from countries that have banned them. The comments by the public in the Daily Mail/BBC online forums are quite funny though... I just published a load at http://layscience.net/?q=node/46

We in SA have to pay a plastic bag tax of around 20c (=1.3p) per bag we use at the supermarket. However, with inflation running at 8.9% and the monthly shop weighing in at somewhere around R2,000 or 200,000c, I don't actually notice.
