The hole in the ozone science

Remember the dear old Montreal Protocol which outlawed CFCs and was going to save us all from a hole in the ozone layer (it's painful apparently)?

According to Reuters, the hole is still growing despite falling levels of CFCs in the atmosphere, and its appearance this year was earlier than usual, suggesting that its growth is likely to continue this year.

Which sort of leaves one wondering if we haven't been had. Can I have my old fridge back?

The WMO and the U.N. Environment Programme have said the ozone layer would likely return to pre-1980 levels .........
To what levels? 70's, 60's, 50's?
How far back (pre 1980) do we have actual measurements of the ozone layer?
Or do we not need them as we can create a computer model?
When was the ozone layer actually completed?
When did the first hole actually appear?
When will this bullshit ever end?

The growing hole in the ozone layer will almost certainly be due to global warming, or not recycling, or not voting labour, or eating meat...
