@SandyS "Space and Science Research Corporation (SSRC)
like I say ..big official sounding name ..but one man band
"You mean like Piers Corbyn?"
.."Piers Corbyn" of WeatherAction which doesn't sound like a big official sounding name
..So I have no problem with that.
Otherwise many people like him and others like Willis on WUWT think he oversells himself by miles.
"At one time GREENWICH declared itself a Nuclear Free Zone." oblivious to thr fact that there was a trainer nuclear reactor in the Naval School there.

don't forget the UK has the capability to make small nuclear reactors in Derby. I used to live about half a mile as the crow flies from Rolls-Royce and Associates. Which was a lot less intrusive than Severn-Trent's Raynesway Wind facility.

At one time Derbyshire declared itself a Nuclear Free Zone.

"..governments should divert green subsidies into R&D aimed at better answers."
Good for Bill Gates, who largely seems to be spending his money on worthwhile causes like Malaria.
But they should start by funding a better class of question. Paying people to repetitively ask the question "Are we totally doomed because carbon dioxide is coming to destroy everything?" is counterproductive. Literally.

I should have added in the mean time we need to fully exploit gas and coal reserves.

I hope someone with clout will forward that GWPF post to Ms Amber Rudd. Of course the only real option is Nuclear Fission or Fusion (The later still 40 years away as it has always been) In my humble opinion efforts should be concentrated on LFTR or the small scale modular system. (Westinghouse small modular reactor) in the short term.

That's a statement of the Bleeding obvious !

Retired software kingpin and richest man in the world Bill Gates says today’s renewable-energy technologies aren’t a viable solution for reducing CO2 levels, and governments should divert green subsidies into R&D aimed at better answers. -

You mean like Piers Corbyn?

All this continental weather coming over here and changing our way of life.
Perhaps I should have voted UKIP.
Keep the borders safe from climate change!
Maybe I've spent too much time reading the Telegraph and Guardian alternately.

The EA whistleblower site Inside The EA has gone "off air" (DNS fails)
Some relief at the palatial Horizon House in Bristol and Millbank Tower in London if it's a permanent thing - and if it is - it'll be a shame. The EA being the epitome of a toxic, dysfunctional overspending out of control bureaucracy 'n all...
