Kompany (unless you are a United fan)
City, methinks you meant.

And Tintin! Don't forget Tintin (and Snowy) - he was Belgian - or at least Herge was.

PCar. You wouldn't (or wouldn't have) trusted Charlemagne, Mercator, Sax, Audrey Hepburn, Lemaitre, Ickx, Kompany (unless you are a United fan) or Siouxsie Sioux? All Belgian. A difficult list to compile because Belgium is stereotyped as a nation of relative nonentities and its difficult to build up distrust for them. The only two Belgians that I would have expressed enmity towards are the King that used the Congo as his own personal fiefdom and Dr Evil😂.

The Portuguese rather than having been flip-flop in their allegiances have the longest allegiance with Britain than any other country.

Trump has spoken. The six executive actions he would take on day one are:

1. issuing notice of withdrawing from Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal
2. cancelling restrictions on US energy production
3. cutting regulations on businesses
4. ordering a plan to combat cyber-attacks
5. investigating visa abuses that undercut American workers
6. imposing a five-year ban on people leaving government to become lobbyists

Points 2 & 3 could be quite sharp for the Green Blob. The wording is from the BBC, but there is a difference between "cancelling" and "cutting" between Points 2 & 3. Does cancel mean cancel, like Brexit means Brexit?

@ACK

Doesn't everyone distrust the Belgians?

Portuguese have been flip-flop in their allegiances and rather intolerant of Protestants/CoE - stewgreen can confirm "English Church" hidden.

Most amusing

BBC.Question.Time.161117.-.Cat.Boyd.I.Did.Not.Vote.In.EU.Ref, but I detest those who voted to leave.

BBC.Question.Time.161117.-.Cat.Boyd.Trump.Lost.The.Election. Idiot woman does not understand USA election system. It is similar to UK first past the post.

Wonderful article in The Guardian promoting Marrakech as a destination.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/planet-oz/2016/nov/19/marrakech-climate-talks-wind-down-with-maze-of-ambition-still-ahead

Totally fails to mention what a complete waste of money it was for so many climatologists to go there at the same time for the same reason.

Pcar & ACK In Islam, it is accepted that the Prophet Muhammed fought under a Green Flag. Many Moslem countries have green in their National Flag.

Please do not tell the Irish.

It may explain Churchill's unease with the colour green, especially as it appeared in Boer Flags, at a time when he found himself incarcerated.

Gosh! I never knew Churchill distrusted the Belgians and Portuguese, and he must have been really suspicious of the Jamaicans (flag has both black and green).

@ACK,

Southern Irish are renowned worldwide for being untrustworthy liars and con-artists*. To be fair to Dork, 1% of his posts do contain some information and sense.

* Which led to W Churchill's "Never trust a country that has black or green on their flag"

To this day, green is distrusted. Commenting on black is perilous.
