@EM cheers
let me check
2x200=0.4KW
365x24x0.4x0.097 (UK capacity factor) = 340KWh in 1 year

whilst the oil barrel 6 bn Joules is 1.67MWh
What did I do wrong ?

A barrel of oil contains about 6* 10^9 Joules of energy. Two typical 4ft by 2ft solar panels rated at 200W each would produce the same amount of energy in one year..

This BBCFour village : Ah prog just ended with no big green celebration
The problem was the size of their substation was not suitable for export
In the end they powered ZERO homes directly

They got a 20KW panel for for a local barn business and claimed to OFFSET to 5 or 6 houses over a year
he claims its just financially OK
(20x4.5p I get that flat out it generates 90p worth of wholesale electricity/hour
(DECC) assumes an average capacity factor of 9.7% for solar photovoltaics
365x24x20*0.097 =16.994MWh/year
1MWh wholesale value £45 ...so 45*16.994= £764.748/year

Em that doesn't seem enough to power 5 to 6 houses cos in UK the retail price is 12p KWh ie 3 times the wholesale price I used so making £2,300 worth of retail electricity

They talk about hundreds of pounds/year for community funds they'll only generate hundreds of pounds if they've got a ridiculous FIT way bigger than the actual wholesale price of electricity.

The EU has decided not to negotiate with Trump over Paris.

That is a relief for EU Taxpayers, who never actually got a vote on Paris in the first place, or anything else done by the EU.

EU Progressives can now choose between blaming Global Warming and/or Trump and/or Brexit for everything bad that ever happens, and still fail to notice the consequences of their own actions.

Clipe, Adams will arrive at full sceptic status when he realises that...

Tiny, It seems obvious to me that Adams is already a full-blown sceptic (only based on my reading of his blog) but is "coming-out" slowly for career/livelihood reasons.

All those billionaires protesting that people poorer than them won't have to pay for the billionaires' obsession. Perhaps the billionaires could pay for it?

Some well chosen words from Trump.

China will ban the export of Fortune Cookies to the USA, now that the USA has stopped exporting jobs to China. At least China still has EU manufacturing.
