The World Health Organization has revoked the appointment of Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe as a goodwill ambassador following widespread outcry.

"I have listened carefully to all who have expressed their concerns," WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a statement.

He had previously praised Zimbabwe for its commitment to public health.

But critics pointed out that Zimbabwe's healthcare system had collapsed under Mr Mugabe's 30-year rule.

Mugabe will want WHO heads to roll for this farce, and for once in his 93 year lifetime, he may be right.

WHO have now discovered what "goodwill" means.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/oct/21/un-lambasted-after-naming-mugabe-goodwill-ambassador

"The head of the World Health Organization has said he is rethinking his decision to name Zimbabwe’s president, Robert Mugabe, as a goodwill ambassador after the move provoked global outrage."

Even at 93, Mugabe can continue making lives miserable, and WHO never knew what, when, why or how.

"and film taxi-drivers shouting out at her."

If she's lucky that's all they do.

The irony is that these attempts to smear the white British into anti racism, has the opposite effect. It highlights what we know - there are unpleasant racist people out there, but in contrast to a few white verbal abusers, some brown Islamic racists had just blown up a bunch of kids. That old chestnut adjusted for the 21st century - guns and bombs will break my bones but names will never hurt me (in anything but an emotional way which is all that seems to matter these days if you listen to the luvvies and snowflakes).

@PCar are to air a documentary where they white up a Pakistani girl, take her to Rotherham, put her in a miniskirt and film taxi-drivers shouting out at her.

Preposterous of course, since TVland people can't make it through the force-field that surrounds Rotherham

Not exactly how the internet works, the url has meaning only to the server it references, the server returns data by interpreting the url, which in turn is interpreted by your browser depending on its content. This may be a straight display of the data (as in html content), browser generated content by interpreting the page data (i.e javascript) or requests for further URl (i.e. adverts). What Google get to see is mainly controlled by what the server allows its bots to view. You should not think of a URL as at all similar to a filename

I was trying to keep it simple.

Anyway, the page/file in question: polling17-vote-thanks.html is stored on their sever in directory blown-away-content

What no confidence in the power grid? Or are they after those subsidies because the grid isn't confident of the power grid?

The Mugabe award is probably about a carrot and stick and the hopes he might live up to the position. It might be aimed more at his successor. Whether it will work is another matter.
