\\ However the AEMC has been quick to warn that electricity prices could go up again because of the closure of coal-fired generators, taking Australian consumers on a power price rollercoaster. When old power stations close down, supply drops and prices go up.//

@Tomo strange spin
"Australian Energy Market Commission forecasts electricity prices rises for Victorians in 2018
THE shutdown of Hazelwood power station is being blamed as electricity bills in Victoria are expected to soar 16 per cent next year.
The closure of coal-fired power stations has led to a predicted 48 per cent increase in wholesale power costs."

"Australia Energy Market Commission is basically saying that energy providers will raise prices in the short term to offset any price reductions in the medium term. Ultimately consumers will pay more for electricity."

The idea of a price fall comes from
\\At present electricity generators sell into the market every half hour under the so called "30-minute interval" system. Under the new regime, which will take effect in 2021, that interval will be cut to 5 minutes.//

Just saw THIS and am …. like… pffffff…….

One wonders at what point do the electricity users simply rebel?

I see from Paul Homewood's place that Greece is getting €1,500.000.000 to build two coal fired power stations from the EU climate fund - rumors about the fuel being delivered in Chinese electric boats are as yet unconfirmed.

It looks like YouTube is consolidating it's move into "broadcast" media - when the broadcast media are now mostly headed in the opposite direction...

I've noticed that they've just removed the "don't show me stuff like this" dropdown option in the categories they segment suggested content into. Coming back to Google search (after 6 months using DuckDuckGo) - it looks even more loaded than I recall it being.

I think that they think that they're too big to fail. I doubt I'm alone in being massively irritated by having somebody else deciding what I should watch.

Merkel Joins Trump In Blowing Off “One Planet” Climate Summit …German Leftists/ Greens Fume

By P Gosselin on 16. December 2017

The extreme German leftists Die Linke (The Left) Party in Germany issued a press release blasting Angela Merkel’s decision not to personally attend the “One Planet Summit” in Paris.

Apparently climate change is not an issue important enough for the German chancellor to devote her time to.

Merkel “a total no-show”

German Leftist Party climate and energy politician Lorenz Gösta Beutin said:

Climate-politically Merkel is a total no show: In Paris the head of the German government could have sent a powerful signal in support of implementing the UN Climate Treaty, and against the unspeakable anti-climate protection course of President Donald Trump, who announced the USA’s withdrawal from the Climate Accord and requested renegotiations. Instead the federal government sent Environment Minister Barbara Hendricks, who had to explain that Germany would resoundingly miss its self-stated climate targets.”

Oh dear. Just when Macron needed German support, Merkel can't be bothered with the feelings of German Greens.
