Incivility and lies abound on Twitter - Twitter themselves play games with their users - as I've said before I run a (decreasing) number of Twitter accounts for other folk on disparate IP addresses and I see huge differences in content and engagement.
As a window into popular delusions it is presently without much competition (Google's corporate efforts with YouTube excepted) - I'll stay using it for some purposes (user newsletters etcetera) - but as a medium for honest debate - the owners are killing it.
