"Reactions were a lot faster than anticipated partly because of the large amounts of water used to dissolve the CO2.

This however points to one of the project's Achilles heels - it is very water intensive.

"It needs over 25 tonnes of water per tonne of CO2," says Prof Gislason. "In Iceland we are blessed with lots of rain, but if you are doing this on the basaltic areas in India... their water is very precious"."

Where does the water go? Are they magically destroying the H and O?

Re: longer trucks

I did a quick search and found 2000 Israel HGV size laws. More or less same as EU/UK.

Those in vid look longer, both the arctics and the multi towed trailers.

Rather strange

Does the headline reflect the true context ?

Nope, it names ONE country , the EU are taking 6 to court
- Does it show the world/historical context ? that UK has relatively ..low levels of NOx
...Nope
- Does the article cover the gov's explanation ? Nope
'It was the EU vehicle standards, that failed to deliver the promised cuts in NOx'
So looks like Greenblob propaganda not news

BBC Narrative vs real world
green propagandist Lord Harra Harra:
"UK referred to Europe's top court over air pollution" * open comments*
is that headlne spin ?
How many countries are being taken to court just one ?

#1 "six EU countries" France & Germany also failed (Italy, Romania and Hungary failed on PM10)
#2 UK gov has an excuse
.. 'It was the EU vehicle standards, that failed to deliver the promised cuts in NOx'

other report : EU orders action against UK for breaching NOx limits

BBC Bitesize kids education on plastic incineration in 2011

Incineration
Polymers release a lot of heat energy when they burn.
This energy can be used to heat homes or generate electricity.
But there are problems with incineration.
Carbon dioxide is produced, which adds to global warming.
Toxic gases are also produced, unless the polymers are incinerated at high temperatures.
It then rushes on to talk about recycling them
..seemingly dismissing incineration and moving on.

I checked that Taxi item
"Of course you need to pay extra for a *range extender* "

Hangon "range extender" what's that ?
Internet says " range extender 1.5-liter petrol engine for use when the driver wants to conserve the battery "

Jesus that's a con that he neverr mentioned its got a petrol engine

The taxi salesman said "Diesel is like a villain
..I see various councils will probably ban diesels that's the way it's going"

Primary purpose of BBC progs is SJW PR
‘ If you don’t help to contribute the SJW narrative you don’t get to appear on the BBC’
..So Special Victimhood group people get a free pass.
White males too can get on unaccompanied if they toe the SJW line
..but non-libs are only brought on as a foil accompanied by a bunch of SJWs
So any old lefty/lib can present a BBC documentary.

R4 Now : Item on Islamic wear from H & M
as the industry in "modest wear grows"

The previous item was about "The new electric taxis"
..Yes they covered both sides of the debate
... NOT ..they just had the electric Taxi promo guys ..item ended by saying
"Yeh diesel is evil, councils will end up banning it"

Next item there is 1.5 million acrylic baths to dispose of each year
..and they are close to impossible to recycle , need to be shredded.
... hm I'd have thought they'd still be useful as fuel in high temp incinerators.

– Next item green bike sharing scheme.

Laurel/Yanny audio illusion shows that Human mind certainty is often a GUESS, with an automatic algorithm which erases the idea we are guessing.
and the same would apply for certainty on Global warming
..and anything else where there are data gaps.

Computer's Logic : I hear something ..compare it against database ..It could be W, X.Y, Z but I don't have enough info divine

Human Logic : I hear something . compare it against database .. .It could be W, X.Y, Z ..now W and Z are never used in human speech, so it could be X or Y
..another cue pointed to X ie the word I just read or the fact I just heard X a minute ago ..so it must be X
now erase this bit about uncertainty
..' Now the sound was X and I just don't understand how anyone could hear it as Y'

#2 Now fiddle around with the input info and cues and you can get the decision to fall on the other side of the knife-edge
say by giving a cue for Y like playing Y 5 times clearly in a row
Then if we go back to our original situation of W, X, Y, Z ...your brain will pitch for Y

The NYT slideable scale exercise on Lauren/Yanny illustrates this

Same for blue-dress/gold-dress your brain doesn't have enough info so it's certainty comes from knife-edge guess
You could probably low light a room and hand someone a blue tomato and their brain would see it as red with 100% certainty. My other comment

Iaapogus, UaT, golfCharlie. Another plant that shows the influence of human activity is the poppy. Its concentrated flowering usually indicates the soil has been turned in the previous year. Hence its appearance abundantly on the battlefields of the first world war and in fields ploughed the year previously.
