Given that the whole EU project was all about legitimising French/German collaboration that started during the wars, why don't they just get on and unify, and leave everyone else out of it?

Whatever is Macron accusing Germany of planning?

Reuters is running with "Renewabe Capacity Exceeds Fossil Fuels"

Well, if that's the case there will no problem with smart metering up the proponents of "renewables" solely to their hearts desire then will there?

I probably meant 'unpublicised'.

I know about some limits to travel like you describe - but I've only encountered it when applying for visas.

Battered passports ... I was lectured by a Russian immigration lady about the state of my passport a while back - she demanded to know "why is it like this?" - which I answered with "Africa" - she didn't get it and then got quite annoyed looking for a space to stamp it.

War against Russia and America?
That would be quite the failure of diplomacy.
Still Germany is at the heart of Europe and they've managed it before. Whatever is Macron accusing Germany of planning?

Wonder why enviro and remainiac Labour MP deleted this retweet

\\ Mary Creagh: RT Environmental Audit Committee: We have published the Government's response to our report on its 25 Year Plan for the Environment. Read more and our Chair…//

The graphic contains the words she uses in her YP frontpage main #projectfear story
“The Government’s woolly response makes no firm commitments on the future governance of the environment after Brexit"

Your UK passport has to be valid on the day you come back not the day you leave the UK.
Hence why a country doesn't let you in on the last few months it has to run.

On renewal they add unused time to your new passport
BTW
when I wrote to them to complain they owed me 4 years
they replied that my passport had been in a washing machine.
It had not, I just happen to use it an awful lot.

so an official document with a an official validity date range printed securely on it is NOT valid for the date range printed in it?

Sound like the sort of self serving codswallop that only our Rolls-Royce civil servants would foist on us.... If it's valid for the duration of travel / residence WTF is the issue?

In my experience UK Passports administration is a near complete balls-up - I've had run-ins with them and involved my MP in the administrative fracas where they seem to have Yes Minister scriptwriters acting as consultants... I lost a Passport and reported it - they purportedly didn't have any record of it being lost ... even though I reported it to two embassies, the online lost passport system and by telephone to the purportedly 24/7 "Lost Passport Hotline"

The FCO has already published guidance for travel to the EU post-brexit if there is no deal.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/passport-rules-for-travel-to-europe-after-brexit

I found it by accident when looking up passport renewal. It says you will need six months remaining on your passport counting from ten years after last renewal, that is not the end date in the passport if you got an extension for early renewal last time. This could catch some people out, check it.

I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else. Is the 'uncertainty' being stoked up even where plans are settled? While you are on gov.uk there's a ton of plans from DExEU about stuff that is still being passed off as unsettled by remainers.
(A remainer doctor told me the other day about not being able to get nuclear medicine stuff because we have left Euratom. In truth it is covered by a new act, completely unpubicised of course)
