I'm shocked. Finally alarmist auntie admits that green policies have [unplanned] negative externalities. Hidden away in the last paragraph in a somewhat alarmist BBC article about UK air pollution is this gem:

However, the government's drive to reduce CO2 emissions blamed for changing the climate has partly contributed to the problem, by encouraging drivers to turn to diesel vehicles.
