Further to yesterday's post, it seems that the Independent will be ending its print editions in just a few weeks' time. Leo Hickman helpfully reminds us what we'll be missing.
The Independent, esp under @simon_kelner, did many striking frontpages about climate change. Here's a selection... pic.twitter.com/j6MZDUMH2Q

Pharos: If the Guardian "gets sucked down into the same black hole" will it produce gravy (train) waves?
"the Independent" RIP- Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Now let's hope for a swift end to the other CAGW cheerleaders/doomsayers/liars- "The Gruniard" and the BBC
The real world will not notice the passing of the Independent. However, the various left-wing echo chambers around the UK (OK north London) will be ringing for ages.

@ Paul Matthews 5:21 ... and dearieme @ 2:51
Paul's link is the link requested by dearieme.
Article was by Charles Onians. In recent years, Charles seems to be writing about strife. Snow is a thing of his past.
In addition to the no snow statement, there is this (my bold):
"Global warming, the heating of the atmosphere by increased amounts of industrial gases, is now accepted as a reality by the international community."
My idea of industrial gases:
A local company (NW USA) called Oxarc (dot com) sells gases and chemicals to industrial users, including welders. The Co's cartoon mascot is a welder's helmet with boots and carrying an oxyacetylene welding/cutting torch. They also sell CO2 in case you want to carbonate your own drinks, and liquid Nitrogen in case you want to make ice cream.
<sarc> Thanks for re-posting the Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past link. </sarc>
God obviously saw it and reminded us again we do not control weather or climate:
When I went to bed last night all was white outside and the same when I woke up this morning, the snow continued to fall all day. Now it is dark and below zero with icy roads and pavements.

Leo Huckster was a waste of space at the Guardener and continued his unprofessional work at the Impotent. A natural progression for him would be a job with Greenp**s or the BBC.
So called "climate change" is to public policy in today's world what fiddle playing was to Nero. The media outlets that have become obsessed with hyping the (non) crisis of climate made themselves not merely wrong but obsolete. Missing out on reporting the confessed corruption of the Climategate emails was a deliberate choice by media and guaranteed the future we see playing out. The Independent deserves their evolution into irrelevance.
Funny thing is a young Canadian by the name of Mark Steyn was one of the founders of The Indescribablyboring.. I like Steyn but he is guilty as charged on this.. No further questions your honour
Oh dear, we are all going to be less ill-informed from now on.
The original progenitors of The Independent were Stephen Glover, Andreas Whittam Smith and Matthew Symonds who were all at The Daily Telegraph. There was a lot to commend in the original intentions of the paper, for instance not joining the incestuous parliamentary lobby or not having articles about the Royal family (even though I am a royalist). It is sad that it gradually adopted the mindset of The Guardian and the BBC. I was not aware that Mark Steyn was involved.
The Independent started out so well. Andreas Whittam-Smith was excellent. Such a shame that it became a 'viewspaper'.
