Ward's murky past

From David Rose's Twitter feed we learn the hilarious news that Bob Ward used to be a punk rocker. Ward had been trying to head off any publicity for Judith Curry's recent revelations about attribution of global warming and in response Rose tweeted this:

I'm on holiday and not working on anything, you barmy, obsessive weirdo. Okay?

Rude, but it could have been worse. I guess the truth sometimes hurts. But then Rose went on to add this delectable snippet:

This the same Bob Ward who's always claiming to spot inaccuracies? Yup. That's him. The ex punk who never got his phd.

I hear on the grapevine that Ward sported a multicoloured mohican and body piercings in the dim and distant past. Please let someone have some photos!

In the meantime, here is the latest staff photo from the Grantham Institute:

David Rose: You meant Judy Curry in the first para there. Other than that, thanks for making clear which Bob Ward it was. Or perhaps, as Richard Tol suggests, not :)

I think the best way to get to the bottom of this is to submit a question to Justiciar Ward at the Grantham Institute. I shall do so and report back.

worth a mention (Prof Richard Betts, Met Office) via twitter, a while back:

@richardabetts
Once again I seem to have attracted the disapproval of the climate thought police ie: @ret_ward

Thanks for that serious reply. A couple of questions

What does Kim Kardashian think the effect of Gareth Bale's wife's transfer to Real Madrid will be on Fred the Shred's use of sellotape ? How many more dirty, dole scrounging, sex obsessed, rabbit breeding, working class, socialist scum will be demanding their benefits be raised to Bale's salary level ? Let me answer, all of them. We don't need them. We've got millions of Bulgarians coming next year. What should we do with them ?

Prof Richard Betts to Bob Ward..... (extract)

"Hi Bob
Please stop twisting my words.
I didn’t say “most scientists I know disagree with the 2 degree target”.

I said “most of the climate scientists (atmospheric physicists) I know do not subscribe to the 2 degrees ‘Dangerous Climate Change’ meme”. This is very different.

My point is merely that defining Dangerous Climate Change is not a question for atmospheric physics, as it has socioeconomic and policy dimensions and it is important for the integrity of climate science to remain distinct from such areas.

I must say that your persistance on this issue is rather worrying, as you seem to be trying to shut down legitimate scientific debate, which is unhealthy. The scientific uncertainties *should* be discussed openly, for the reasons I have explained...... "

I love the Mail's coverage of the French spies discovery of sarin gas. I am totally CONVINCED. . So I would like to encourage every Daily Mail employee to take out French citizenship today and be prepared to go to Syria. I would love to see every single one of you die gloriously for the French Republic.

That might make up for that little error of judgement Mail chairman Lord Rothermere made sending a telegram of support to Adolf Hitler following his invasion of the Sudetenland in 1938 .

Only joshing David :-)

Punk doesn't signify.

Far better had they caught Bob at the Barbican a few years ago, singing in the chorus of Les Boreades

Bob Ward has now denied he is Bobby Ward.

"Bob Ward has now denied he is Bobby Ward."

Thank god. I might have gone warmist over this issue. I mean, the man who played on Dance Stance... how could I disagree with him?

Just come across this thread. It’s definitely not the same person. Bob Ward in Subway Sect and Dexys was from East London and was in a relationship with my sister for many years. Unfortunately died about 25 years ago which is why R.I.P is often added to his name
