Windfarm

I came across this woodcut by artist Paul Bloomer and thought it told a story. Thanks to Paul for sending a high-res version.

I have a very 'new age' friend who is deathly into feng shui [the Chinese art of placement] who once commented that ceiling fans were about the worst possible thing you could have in your house, "cutting chi" very, very bad apparently. I happened to be living in a tipi at the time, which according to Chinese theory is almost as bad [whirling chi], I guess the Chinese forgot to explain that to the plains indians, and the Mongols [who conquered them].

So, I always like to tease my new-agey, nutty-crunchy, eco-greeny friends that wind farms are "cutting chi" very, very bad - what can they say?

It is an endless source of amusement for me to draw attention to the inevitable contradictions generated within ideologies.
