" I moved into to a new flat, they told me that cos it's on a District Heating Scheme the bills would be lower
Well nope, they are much higher
..we have to pay £1/day to be in the scheme, even if we don't use any, and people say switch, but we can't cos we are locked into an 18 year contract"

5Live covered this before.
The industry spokesman said on average schemes ate 10% cheaper, but not always.

Normal problem is to offload infrastructure costs onto consumer early on.

A quick Twitter search and I spot the woman who blocks me was promoting then 3 hours ago

"Good news about Govt's new investment scheme to expand heat networks which will play an important part in delivering the Clean Growth Strategy. Reusing heat from industrial processes and Combined Heat and Power plants for district heating also usually lower costs for consumers."

Do the political experts still agree with their previous arguments?

China manufactures so much of the essential kit for Unreliable Energy, but strangely, they would prefer to have something more reliable, like coal, for domestic usage.

Japan were very good at opening factories within the EU. China would love to do the same, but probably with the intention of creating a China Town to revolutionise the local economy and its administration. BREXIT may have cooled and dampened the appeal of Scotland, but the regime must be able to see some mutual benefits. But the Chinese need reliable power.

"Nicola Sturgeon in China row as ministers intervene in planning case"

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/16155197.Sturgeon_in_China_row_as_ministers_intervene_in_planning_case/

"NICOLA Sturgeon is at the centre of a planning row after SNP ministers intervened in a controversial application backed by the Chinese government.

Scottish ministers “called in” plans related to the Inch Cape Offshore Wind farm on Monday, the same day the First Minister began a week-long trade visit to China.

Ms Sturgeon also met the project's financiers on Tuesday in China.

The call-in decision, justified as the matter was “potentially of national importance”, was taken before the local authority even had a chance to consider it."

It's worth a read, as it demonstrates the one-party state attitude of the SNP Government, and its love affair with renewables, and contempt for democracy. Perhaps Sturgeon is in the world's largest one-party state to take some lessons on how it's done.

\\ Energy companies with less than 250,000 customers are also subsided by not having to charge for the green levies. That's why they are cheaper, until they hit the 250,001 customers,
then they have to charge 12% extra, Inc billing and staff costs, this is when they fold. //

That's classy, 2017 I pointed out a flat out contradiction by Anne Robinson "independent consumer champion" )not the TV one)
And I notice now she blocked me
She could have stated that she is "not a #GreenBlob cultist", but she chose not to

Worldwide news has reported disgust, offence and revulsion of the pikey shrine. People say it constitutes harassment of locals in Hither Green - but the police seem to disagree.

Under section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986 a person is guilty of causing harassment, alarm and distress if they 'display any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting, within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby'.

One law for all?

The gypsey death shrine is clearly intimidation
Do the police allow shrines to terrorists at the site of their attacks ?

and BTW it intimidates the witness of the second robbers trial
