Messenger,

You are right about the rudeness and, for what it's worth, a couple of days ago, I regretted posting my spray at AK within seconds of sending it. I hardly needed to rush in gallantly to defend TinyCO2's honour. There is something in Alan's manner that does get on my nerves. I think it's that I just can't believe he doesn't realise how he comes across. All innocent like the boy saying "I'm not pulling the cat's tail; the cat's doing all the pulling, I'm just holding on.". But maybe he really doesn't see it.

I'll try to restrain myself in future.

"Germany's Research Vessel (RV) Polarstern is going to lock itself in the Arctic sea-ice and drift across the top of the planet. It'll take a year. Hundreds of experts will visit the ship in that time.... "

Presumably the "experts" will all have to fly in to visit?

The idea of a ship getting stuck in the ice deliberately, to cross the North Pole was tried in the Fram. The ship took almost 3 years, but missed:

The ship survived, as does the name Fram. The designer's work still survives, a "Norwegian" with a Scottish accent:

The Liberals are the only national Party to have been consistently pro the EU. They are going for every single Remain Vote on the assumption that a General Election is imminent.

If they do win more seats, but BREXIT still occurs, they are at liberty to campaign for a Referendum about rejoining the EU, but what else?

It's my understanding that the British people voted for Brexit.

Deal or no deal...negotiations or not...It's up to the EU not BOJO to negotiate is it not?

Correct and nothing in Article 50 says a deal must be made. Furthermore, EU admits the WA breaches Article 50 - thus, accepting it should be an illegal breach of an International Treaty which UK accepts

E-scooters, ICE-scooters and Segways are good examples of why RTA usurping common law is wrong.

@AK Yes it is NP, but such moorland to me is hardly pristine
doesn't it have a history of sporadic old mining ?

BTW there is an " intermediate shaft site at Lockwood Beck, which is located outside but immediately adjacent to the National Park"

@ M Courtney

My guess is that they will continue to bleat on about having a second referendum, which is their current policy in the absence of an election according to Chuka 'Three Parties' Umanna,

Hopefully we'll be finally out of the EU by November, but If the great betrayal by Parliament imposes yet more delay, having a LibDem canvasser knock on the front door will be quite fun.

While I tend to agree that politics should be in a Discussion thread I am also hypocritical enough to ask a question here.

Has anyone seem the LibDems challenged on what they Brexit position is if they don't get an over all majority?

We get that they are taking an over all LibDem majority to be a mandate to withdraw Article 50. Fair enough. Everyone who votes LibDem knows that's what they will do.

But if they don't get an over all majority do they accept that as a mandate to not withdraw Article 50 and thus would concede that the UK is Leaving - no more questions?

If not, isn't that Head I Won, Tails You Lose. Peasant's opinions matter not.

Nowhere have I seen this question asked.

Stewgreen As you know the mine is in a National Park and permission to construct a deep mine was only given if it would cause minimal environmental damage. This involved promises to keep the mine and the transit system as hidden as possible. Without those promises there could have been no mine. The innovations would have restored Britain's place as a centre for deep mining technology.
