Might be, Tomo, but the BBC Soul Music has been broadcast from the 1980s and is in its 28th series.

AK

not heard that but I have a suspicion that it's derived from a Dutch effort that has been running on YouTube for some time .... Top2000 - I wonder if it's the same?

Tiny. Might I highly recommend "Soul Music" on BBCs Radio 4; a wonderful mix of comments and views about an iconic piece of music from people involved in the making of the piece, those who have performed it and those it has influenced or affected. This morning's was Otis Reading's "Sitting on he side of the Bay" Marvellous and Free.

I see Puerto Rico's Secretary of State confirms more warehouses on the island are still stocked w/ aid from the 2017 hurricane (that's now largely out of date too...).

One wonders at the dopiness of crooks that don't dispose of the evidence - in a proper banana republic the extended families and cronies of the corrupt pols would've emptied those warehouses and sold off the loot.

Hiding the supplies while blaming DJT for not helping - for short term media point scoring - looks to be coming back to sink its teeth into them....

From the Guardian's report on the new Climate Assembly.
https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/jan/22/uk-citizens-climate-assembly-meet-first-time

The assembly was selected to be a representative sample of the population after a mailout to 30,000 people chosen at random. About 2,000 people responded saying they wanted to be considered for the assembly, and the 110 members were picked by computer.
2,000 out of 30,000 are self-selecting.
This is not a representative sample of the population chosen at random.

Sometimes I despair about the lack of understanding of statistics by journalists.

AK, I for one don't mind paying for stuff I don't watch that is apolitical and good of its kind. I like some of their science, history and archaeology but even those have deteriorated because the BBC wants to appeal to da youf. No recognition that not all youth want cat videos and people hurting themselves in 'funny' activities. Time Team died on its feet when Channel 4 tried to jazz it up with a bimbo and a himbo instead of the crusty old experts. People who watch that stuff actually like facts. Who knew? One of the changes that the BBC can't affect is that lots of people like box sets. I now watch/listen to most BBC stuff on iPlayer or Sounds (a stupid rebrand of iPlayer for radio). Sounds has almost nothing worth listening to now. The things I enjoyed are either mothballed or too biased against everything I believe in. The most fun the BBC has given me recently has been the outpouring of leftie remainer tears. Box sets means that people can get peak enjoyment in one go and then go do something else, rather than sit through the unsuitable programme schedule that follows because there isn't enough time to do anything lengthy.

Meanwhile other channels are beginning to challenge the BBC on the stuff it's famed for - comedy, drama and even science. A for news and current affairs - they're just the least annoying of a bad lot. A poor source of news but a good place to be lectured.

From a link at Guido Fawkes, this opinion piece seems to catch the mood of the Nation, (being force fed Veganism) , about right.

https://conservativewoman.co.uk/exiting-left-lord-hall-of-the-british-bias-corporation/

"His seven-year reign at the top has confirmed and accelerated the BBC’s slide into relentless liberal-left bias across virtually its entire output, including especially in the massively negative coverage of Brexit and the endless plugging of climate alarmism, culminating last week on the BBC1 News at Ten with a series of lead items which were pure propaganda and could have been pulled from a Greenpeace manual. "

The BBC should be politically impartial, but this does not mean having a policy that attacks the Government and more than 50% of the population.

The BBC's Head of News and EU Propaganda is Fran Unsworth, responsible for costing the BBC even more in damages than her salary. Hall's successor ought to arrange for her to be relocated to Brussels so she can spend more time with people she doesn't despise.

Mark. You write that the BBC is supposed to be informative, but isn't (= "performs poorly"). Once again I disagree. Out of interest I consulted the Radio Times where I found, for this evenings edification. Easy ways to Live Well, Spy in the Wild, Great Railway Journeys, The Andrew Neil Show, Yorkshire Walks, Trust me I'm a Doctor, Earth's Great Rivers and the rest of BBC4, and I haven't included regional and children's programming. Yes, some of this doesn't appeal, but it will to others. I say, not bad for one night's programming.
