Compare and contrast

Be warned, this is very, very ugly stuff, and there are several messages in there that seem to me to be criminal.

Colour me disgusted

Yours truly in the aftermath of death threats to Phil Jones

Now that lukewarmers have been outed by facts they are playing the 'victim' card. It's not the world that's against them it's the science.

Lord Deben in the aftermath of threats to Matt Ridley and David Rose

Hilarious self-pitying nonsense as interviews himself for 'The Mail on Sunday'. Seriously.

Bob Ward in the aftermath of threats to Matt Ridley and David Rose

Noble cause criminality.

When you're losing, the ugly side of human nature comes out.

Mind you, I think that the warmists wanted people who disagreed with them to be shot, even when they were on a roll...

Feb 2, 2015 at 2:37 PM | Unregistered Commenterdodgy geeer

Could the Grantham Institute please further explain their position on death threats?
Or was their failed Phd acting on his own ??

Feb 2, 2015 at 2:40 PM | Unregistered CommenterMars Shmallow

In regards to the death threats received by Jones...didnt some, if not all of them, actually come from Mann Made Global Warming (tm) catastrophiliacs?

Feb 2, 2015 at 2:43 PM | Unregistered CommenterMailman

Like my 12 year old son, Deben and Ward should be banned from twitter but whoever has responsibility for looking after them.

Feb 2, 2015 at 2:48 PM | Unregistered CommenterJack Cowper

I seem to recall that a FOI request for copies of the (Jones) death threats didn't produce much.

Feb 2, 2015 at 2:48 PM | Unregistered CommenterTerryS

From the Bob Ward twitter feed.

"Hello @DavidRoseUK, could you please phone @ret_ward for a man-to-man chat. #Climategate was a rubbish fake scandal. @rtcc_megan @ed_hawkins"

Jo Abbess! Now there's a name from the past.
And still claiming that the police investigation was a waste of time as Climategate was faked?
With friends like these...

Feb 2, 2015 at 2:54 PM | Unregistered CommenterMCourtney

Jo Abbess....owner of the most lovingly crafted but least read blog in the "climate" universe.

Feb 2, 2015 at 2:58 PM | Unregistered CommenterJack Savage

Lord Deben, still confused, by imaginary science, coming from real people, who he imagines are friends, who are all helping themselves, to other peoples real money, to further their economic retirement, and spend it with their families.

He does a great double act with Bob Ward

Feb 2, 2015 at 2:58 PM | Unregistered CommenterGolf Charlie

Hmm aren't we giving them too much attention ?
This time they are just sneering, log it, but dont expect it to gain us much sympathy in the court of public opinion.

- We know Ward/Debden etc. are media professionals who play dirty.
We don't let them control the agenda.
And we keep up the pressure
Find their errors that we should focus on, cos they are important and will gain traction will the public.
- However I do see The Press Gazette is reporting this intimidation against David Rose and Greenblob Bob's laughing at it.

Feb 2, 2015 at 3:15 PM | Registered Commenterstewgreen

Isn't it about time everyone started calling Deben by his real name again, John Gummer?

Feb 2, 2015 at 3:16 PM | Unregistered Commenterc777

MCourtney, I think Jo Abbess used the correct words, not necessarily in the right order

Climategate was a fake rubbish scandal=Climategate was a scandal about fake rubbish.

Feb 2, 2015 at 3:18 PM | Unregistered CommenterGolf Charlie

Golf Charlie
Try "Climategate was a scandal about rubbish by fakes". Better?

'Deben' and 'science' go together like 'Ward' and 'PhD'.

Dodgy Geezer (Feb 2, 2015 at 2:37 PM): you need some sleep – you’ve run out of ‘Z’s!

However, you are right – look no further than Parncutt’s piece.

Lord Drivel Dribble Dreben will no doubt be spouting his bile as murdered “deniers” are buried: “Bah! Called himself a ‘victim’? He deserved it, talking what I considered to be nonsense…” What galls me the most is that he has his wealth by sponging off ME; even outing him, and having him ejected from every body and organisation will not make a dent on his excessive pension. Loathsome toad. (With apologies to all of the Anura order.)

I suspect that the same could be said for Ward, too. Be interesting to see if he would gather to guffaw at the sight of Matt Ridley swinging from a lamp-post. I wonder if his hilarity would waver should the crowd turn on him?

Feb 2, 2015 at 3:59 PM | Registered CommenterRadical Rodent

For those not old enough to remember, Lord Deben is John Gummer who, despite his almost complete lack of knowledge in his various political briefs, somewhat bafflingly seems to have managed to cling on to high places with his Membership of the committee on climate change.

Its enough to make you vote for...Pah! They are all as bad as each other

tonyb ( President of 'A Plague on all Your Parties, Party')

Feb 2, 2015 at 4:26 PM | Unregistered Commentertonyb

Forget noble cause corruption, there's nothing noble about these people.

And to Deben, it wasn't the science that caused a mob to turn up at a fossil fuel executives home, it's not the science saying 'we know where you live', neither is the science issuing death threats on social media networks. It's demented activists that are causing the concern.

Feb 2, 2015 at 4:29 PM | Unregistered CommenterTim Spence

Lord Deben and Bob Ward have shown a true passion and humanity that come naturally with a sharia law.

Feb 2, 2015 at 5:28 PM | Unregistered CommenterCurious George

Mike Jackson, on reflection, there are more possibilities! It was obviously a typo by Abscess in the first place.

Feb 2, 2015 at 5:48 PM | Unregistered CommenterGolf Charlie

Give Gummer and Ward due credit - not just any old fool can be that stupid, it takes a lot of effort.

Deben, Brittan's friend. Do you want a bite of my burger uncle Leon

Feb 2, 2015 at 5:58 PM | Unregistered CommenterAnoneumouse

So, now we have not just billionaires to sell us out to the third world and alien cultures, for their further enrichment, but also to laugh at us re death threats?

Is this what we have billionaires for like Grantham.

Would it be possible to find an electoral majority in the West to get rid of this megalomanic scum.

Feb 2, 2015 at 6:06 PM | Unregistered CommenterMars Shmallow

Is john gummer, the objective and independent member of the climate change committee still chairman of environmental consultancy Valpak and wind farm company Forewind? Presumably he resigned when he joined the climate change committee?

Feb 2, 2015 at 6:50 PM | Unregistered CommenterTonyb

Fortunately or unfortunately, the right has better manners than the left. Of course, I'm talking about mainstream right and left. The loonies have no point of reference other than their entitlement.

Came across a useful slogan on a forum recently.
"I'm not a complete idiot, you know. Some bits of me are missing,"
Might be worth remembering for future use!

Feb 2, 2015 at 8:49 PM | Registered CommenterMike Jackson

Lord Deben once compared listening to the opinions of denialists on climate science to listening to the opinions of Cliff Richard on religion, and he evoked the consensus argument in favour of his preferred flavour of christianity.
I can take being classified with holocaust deniers, but being compared to Cliff Richard is going too far.

Feb 2, 2015 at 9:06 PM | Registered Commentergeoffchambers

Yeah, not convinced one way or the other by the Brittain stories, but Deben coming out in support of him certainly did nothing to convince me of Brittain's innocence.

Mailman Jones 'death threats' is those the one where he could offer no evidenced they been made because once again 'the dog eat the data ' ?
Self pitying BS artist that has all the Excel skills of a slug and someone that planned to avoid FOI request 'before ' he got any .

Feb 3, 2015 at 12:02 AM | Unregistered CommenterKnR

No-one seems to have picked up on Dana's main 'substantive' crit of Ridley being a link to a non-peer reviewed piece of PNAS nonsense by activist Desssler, OK'd by activist Solomon, on *stratospheric* water vapour.

Feb 3, 2015 at 12:25 AM | Unregistered CommenterRog Tallbloke

I can take being classified with holocaust deniers, but being compared to Cliff Richard is going too far.

Feb 2, 2015 at 9:06 PM | Registered Commentergeoffchambers

I can, barely, imagine worse, Geoff. How about being called a "Cliff Richard Denier"? There would be no way out from that one.

Feb 3, 2015 at 1:45 AM | Unregistered Commentermichael hart

So @Tallbloke you are saying in His Guardian Article
"The author, Dana Nuccitelli, argued that people who hold opinions that differ from his own – such as journalist Matt Ridley – are propagating climate change myths. Like zombies, he says, these myths keep rising from the dead."
Dana's main argument didn't rely so much on proven science but rather Dessler's non-peer reviewed paper ... perhaps better labelled warmist propaganda.

( There is a large biz opportunity in supplying super heavy duty reinforced Irony Meters to the #shameless Warmist media teams.)

Feb 3, 2015 at 2:41 AM | Registered Commenterstewgreen

The parasite, 'Lord' Deben, sold his soul to the devil a long time ago. Bob Ward believes ( or, atleast, believes in his own hatred, his nihil) and, therefore, perhaps, has some kind of self-justification for his ill behaviour. We can fight ideologues, the obtuse, the absurd, for that's on our street, we tackle him here. But Lord Deben, he speaks for the state, the very mouth of Sauron, he is the state, he is what the state is, c'est etat c'est mois. One would have to overthrow that state before one got an honest word from such and who, then, would want to listen? Imbeciles, all!

Feb 3, 2015 at 4:26 AM | Unregistered CommenterLewis Deane

@stewgreen. Exactly. Dana is such a clown I can't be bothered wasting time writing an article on his mendacity. However, I do have some juicy info on tropospheric water vapour, where the data has been deliberately munged, because it doesn't exhibit any sign of the 'amplification' by CO2 increase alarmists like Dana rely on.

Time for a new aphorism : The pseudoscience is settled.

Feb 3, 2015 at 12:39 PM | Unregistered CommenterTuppence

tonyb - Deben is still Chairman of Valpak - can't spot any (current or recent) connection with Forewind...

Feb 3, 2015 at 1:08 PM | Unregistered Commentersherlock1

John Gummer apparently stepped down as chair of forewind wind turbines when he was appointed to his position on the climate change committee.

Incredibly Charles hendry formerly secretary of state at DECC stepped straight into the chairmanship of Forewind. When he left the govt in 2012

Feb 3, 2015 at 7:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterTonyb

@sherlock1/Tonyb: Gummer/Deben went ahead with his idiotic publicity stunt of feeding his offspring burgers on camera despite being warned by DH scientists that, at that time, there was a serious risk to consumer health from BSE, He has no morals or scruples, he is only interested in his bank account.
