I'll drink to that and wish a Happy and Succesful New Year to all true scientists and sceptics.

I will also drink to that toast Bish and hope for the return of true science to the climate debate and some believable engineering to the energy debate

Cheers Bish, all the very best to you and yours.

I am presently recovering from witnessing Yeo bemoaning power outages! First rehearsal?

Happy new year to all.

One thing we need to publicise is the amount of money 'invested' in AGW etc. There are an awful lot of people with vested interests in keeping the scam going as long as possible.

An example...

Happy New Year to you all. Let us continue to work towards greater understanding of both science and policy in global warming.

Happy New Year to you, your Grace, and Josh and so many of the contributors here who generate such an interesting and generally courteous discussion. It would be invidious to single out any individuals but some make such good sense (and others don't!).

Happy New Year to one and all.
Let this be the year that my wife ceases to have to restrain me from applying boot to telly due to a$$h*les on there wittering on about 'changing weather patterns' (this the latest - re the Philippines typhoon); 'climate change' ; 'global warming' and bleedin' 'carbon footprints'....

Sorry - got to go and lie down...

The stranded ice-heroes have posted a 'morale boosting' song on the web. The BBC website has posted a link to it from

Just go there and page down a bit until you get to it. It's so not worth listening to that you will just have to listen to it, if you see what I mean. What was it the old cad Terry Thomas said as he bit his cigarette-holder between clenched teeth? - 'What a frightful bloody shower!'

2014 should be the year when the sceptics seize the agenda. The warmist's hegemony is crumbling and our voices are beginning to be heard. But we must continue to harry and harrass them, putting them on the back foot.

Don't just accept their nonsense..aggressively challenge them to demonstrate that they are right. They will wriggle and wiggle but they can't do it. So let the world see their they have with the Antarctic tourists.

And ridicule is a powerful weapon. Josh leads the way, but we can all do our little bit. Do not treat climos with deference..they haven't earned it and don't deserve it. Miss no opportunity to have fun at their expense. Once the public start laughing, rather than genuflecting, their cause is lost.

M.C. Tucker - our ABC has just shown the latest live clip from Professor Turney. They don't say Professor of what - entomology, botany, cosmology?- they apparently haven't been able to find out. However he informs us that they have marked out a helo landing pad with Milo to increase the contrast.

No seriously.

Mawson would have given what was remaining of his feet for some Milo but probably wouldn't have sprinkled it on the snow.

Now it's our turn to call

The shots, And with Mother Nature on our side

To show those climate 'scientists' have lied

Here's to a humorous year

with the real science coming to bear ;-)

Happy New Year, Bish and everyone!

2013 was the year that sea ice at the North Pole would (under one projection, at least) be gone completely during the summer.

2014 is the year that WWF have told us is the "point of no return", unless there is a "complete industrial shift towards a low-carbon future".

So the Non-Apocalypse continues! :-) Long may we enjoy it.

Fate works in mysterious ways.

It seems that our ill-fated friends in the Akademic Sjokowskiy are in need of help from WUWT !!!

Well Done Anthony,

"My first thought was that no matter how much we’ve been criticizing the expedition for its silliness, that if such a request had reached all the way from Antarctica to me, I’d do everything I could to help"

Truth, data and facts are so much more helpful than propaganda which seems to be the only thing their own side are capable of!!

Happy New Year to you, and to all who frequent this most venerable of climate blogs! Here we find drama, trenchant observations, flashes of insight, sometime floods of insight, much by way of congenial company and virtual soulmates, and the occasional trigger for deep amusement. All in all, a great companion for the scattering of lone radicals around the world variously appalled, dismayed, cheesed-off, and often angry at the astonishing spread and influence of primitive beliefs and simplistic assertions about the climate system and our impact on it.

The global warming scam has become so central to the lives of the worldwide bureaucratic nomenklatura that it is going to take a great deal of shifting

The Guardian newspaper is responding by shouting louder and waving their hands harder claiming 3-5degrees C by 2100. A sign of desparation????
